I have absolutely zero confidence in PayPal

I have a successful business building guitar effects pedals and use Paypal as my merchant solution. I have accepted 30k in payments through them over the last three months. Yesterday I woke to find my account frozen and my debit Mastercard deactivated because a buyer had filed a complaint after the 45-day complaint period. They wanted copies of utility bills, invoices and receipts from suppliers, proof that I owned the goods that I sell (I build them), a credit check, a new bank account verification, and tracking numbers for all of my transactions. I had $2500 in my account that I could not access. I Contacted Paypal and after three hours on the phone I was able to get my account reinstated for now who knows when they will limit my account again. I am now looking for alternatives as I have absolutely zero confidence in this company.

PULL YOUR MONEY OUT before they decide to freeze your account again. I had the same thing happen to me and I didn’t get my money out before they froze my account again for some unknown reason. I had to wait 180 days for them to release MY money. I went with a company called merchantinc. Easy set up and the fees are really low.

You are a lucky one that got your account reinstated. After I had sent in all the documentation they requested after my account got limited my account got permanently suspended with no appeal. I now have to wait 180 days to get my money back and obviously can’t use paypal again. Take all your money out while you can and don’t use paypal anymore. You never know when or why they’ll shut you down for good.

There is no tried-and-true way to get a hold of paypal. I had an issue with my account a few weeks back and it took longer for me to get someone competent on the phone than it did to resolve my issue. After this lack of communication happened, I opened a merchant account with one of their competitors and I couldn’t be happier. It is not a matter of IF it will be limited again; it is a matter of WHEN.
