Account Limted- cant withdrawl funds for 180 days

Hi All,

Well I`ve been selling on Ebay since 2004 and I got this message on June 26,

We routinely review account activity in the PayPal system. When we reviewed
your account, we noticed that your activity violates some of the agreements
you have with us.

They are holding up my funds and canceled my card. I have called and emailed Paypal and all they say is ” we`ll review your account in 45 days” this is all because one of my buyers put a claim in to make sure she got her refund. I explained to PP that i gave the buyer her refund and that was that. They still didnt care and said i would have to wait it out. I sent them an email stating i was going to complain to the BBB. Has anyone done this and gotten their money back???

The rest of the email.. blah blah blah

Because of this, we’ve limited your accounts and can no longer offer our
services to you. You’ll still be able to log in to view your transaction
history, but you won’t be able to send or receive money.

What’s the problem?

We noticed one or more of the following problems:

1. You provided information that we believe was false, inaccurate, or
misleading; or

2. You sent or received money that was potentially related to fraudulent
activity; or

3. You have more than one account with a negative balance; or

4. You are in violation of the User Agreement, the Commercial Entity
Agreement, the Acceptable Use Policy, or another agreement you have with
PayPal.

Our decision was based on terms outlined in these agreements.

What to do next

As allowed under the User Agreement, we’ll hold the money in your account
for 45 days. We’ll use your balance to reimburse buyers who file claims,
chargebacks, or any other reversals against you. Before we reimburse the
buyer, in most cases, you’ll have a chance to respond to the claim,
chargeback, or reversal.

We’ll send you an email after 45 days letting you know when you can
withdraw money from your accounts.

If you think that we permanently limited your accounts in error, you may
appeal this decision. Just go the Help Center and click Contact Us.

When you contact us, we’ll need some information to process your appeal.
Please have your drivers’ license, your Social Security or tax ID card, a
current utility bill, your business license, your articles of
incorporation, or other identifying documentation.

Sincerely,
PayPal

This happened to me as well. In was given no reason why the account was limited and when I appealed they denied me. They help my fund for over 180 days but I did get it back eventually. Good luck. You might want to look into an alternative.

I got the same message from paypal out of the blue and I had to wait the full 180 days to get my money back. I had never had a chargeback and only one dispute which I won. All the information I had on the account was my real information and I was selling baby clothes and toys something I don’t consider being related to fraudulent activity. I contacted PayPal to see what could be done and they told me I had to wait the 45 days ti fund out when I could receive my money as far as my account that was gone and I could no longer use PayPal they told me. I tried appealing but got nowhere. I took my business elsewhere and found it to be much better then paypal so I really owe Paypal a thank you for suspending my account.

Typical paypal bullshit. Shut you down limit you and keep your money for their profit gain. This company truly pisses me off. They will hold you money for up to 180 days and then its still a fight to get them to release it,but you can get it back

Sounds like you are another victom of paypla and their crazy bullshit. Same thing happened to me about a year ago. Everything was going good and one day I got the same email. After many attempts I got through to paypal and they refused to tell me why they shut me down. But they were eager to tell me my money would be help up to 180 days. I was beyond pissed off.

I find it amusing that paypal tries to market them as an “easy to use” service, yet they fail to place a support number anywhere on their site. They are such thieves. I had my account funds but on hold for six months too. It was a labyrinth to get my money back. As soon as my funds were released I closed my account. I don’t have another way of processing credit cards at the moment, but I’m willing to lose some sales in order to feel safe.
