Yet another story on Paypal thieving the poor!!!

Just recently Paypal has frozen my account asking me for proof of my registered credit card! Unfortunately I do not have a credit card. After a few emails and given copies my ID and address paypal still refuses to unfreeze my account so that I can recover my $200! I am sick and tired of begging for my money, that does not mean I will stop! If you count that Paypal might have some 10 million+ customer worldwide, and lets say that 1 million of this customers have there account frozen with an average of $100 in it, that would be about $100 million that ebay cash on the interest, no wonder that Paypal stock exchange is reported well!!!

Well, for me I am not going to stop until they give me back my $200, it is only a matter of principal, I am not a thieve and I do not accept people thieving specially when it is a wealthy company. So it might take me 1, 2 maybe 3 years but I will get it back time all the anguish!

Today my bank calls me to tell me paypal was charging my bank card $400 12 times= $4800. They stopped my bank card then and assured me I will get my money back. When I called PayPal to tell them they didn’t even care. Card cancelled! My other PayPal experience was, I paid for something through PayPal I never ever received and PayPal told me to get my money back from the people who stole it to start with. Good luck on that one.

A very good eBay buyer from Mongolia sent a $154.50 payment for a Turkish coin made in Turkey and in his payment through PayPal he mentioned that he liked a coin from Shiraz of the Ilkhanid dynasty that he bought 2 months before (The Ilkhanids was a (13th century Persia/Iranian dynasty). PayPal picked up the word Shiraz, sent his payment back and limited my account. They want me to sign an affidavit that I will not do anything like that again, in essence charging me with doing something wrong.
I called the U.S. Treasury department OFAC spoke with a representative that told me the ruling was simply “NO Importation” if the coin was already outside of Iran it was not subject to this regulation. I asked them to contact PayPal and explain the ruling but they said they could not because PayPal was a private company and they could do whatever they want to! I have over $500 in my PayPal account which I cannot take out because of the limitation PayPal placed on it. Do you think it would do any good to speak with the New Jersey department of Banking & Insurance, it certainly seems like blocking my access to my own money ($500)without cause is a violation of banking regulations?

I registered with paypal/ebay and conducted many online transactions starting with an agreed spending/receiving limit of £1.600. As I approached the receiving limit I was invited to have these receiving limits lifted and was then notified my limits had been raised to £3.500 so I continued selling my personal things. Shortly after, I was then informed that as I had now exceeded the initial £1.600 limit to supply even more personal information while my accounts were now limited or restricted. Thus I was now put in a position where I could no longer receive any transactions fees or even withdraw my money to transfer to my own bank account. I have a balance of some £1.300 stuck in my paypal account. I have also offered to pay my ebay fees of £194 from my paypal account which has been restricted since 14 December 2012. I have seen on internet sites that I will have to wait 180 days before I can have my money released. Is this true? Have ebay/paypal the legal authority to do this because I refuse to provide more personal information even though they have my bank account details? Any advice? What can I do? There must be thousands of ebay clients in this position?

Paypal suspended my account 6 months ago.
They wanted all my personal info to prove I’m not helping terrorists overseas.
Actually my information is easily obtained as I am a self employed health worker and worked in my profession for 45 years.
I’ve been using Paypal for 15 years with no more than a few hundred dollars transactions per year.
It’s just a hobby for Gods sake!
I sent them everything to prove who I am – according to their directions.
They just send me the same photo-copied request for more information as well as the information I’ve already submitted !!?
I wrote back telling them to keep my money – I’m not going to play their stupid game any longer.
I will never deal with Paypal again and I will advise all other sellers to avoid them !
They are just like Facebook and all the other big companies – they get so big and self-serving that small people like us don’t concern them.
So they don’t bother to answer complaints.
Having a large complaints department would cost them too much.
It’s all driven by greed and employees that can’t be bothered asking for changes to help the consumer.
The Australian Immigration department is another example – anyone who works there is happy with the status quo, they get their salary
every month, so why rock the boat by making any changes that might help genuine immigrants to get a visa!
Easier to concentrate on welcoming illegal immigrants – gives them a warm hearted feeling!
We have millions of beautiful, highly educated, English speaking people who want to come to Australia – but they can’t come because
of pig-headed old policies passed down by politicians that are interested in anything but their own perks.
Instead we get hordes of ugly, un-educated non-English speaking people who want to live here at the expense of the tax-payer while they insist
on bringing their primitive culture and ugly habits with them!

PayPal limited my account access and I provided them with all of the information they had requested. They said that I was making too much money too fast (even though I could confirm the sources of my inventory and I am a registered business) and that they were holding my money for 180 days. They could not name any policies that I violated or tell me anything that I did wrong, except that I was doing really well. This happened right around Christmas and it really ruined my family’s Christmas (all of my money was tied up in the inventory that I sold and PayPal froze). I still have not been able to get my account restored yet and I highly doubt it will ever be. It is now May and I still don’t have my money despite pleading with them countless times.
Why would anyone use PayPal if you get punished when your business does well? That was apparently my crime, my business doing well? Unfreakingbelieveable.

I’d been a happy occasional user of PayPal for several years, done all the verification things with the bank account etc and even become an approved business user. I had good ratings on eBay and all was good in the world. April 4th this year and a hosting supplier wanted to credit my account due to overbilling, after that I was put on limit. When I queried it I was told I had to provide photo ID and further proof of my home address, which hadn’t changed in 2 years. Now, strange as it may seem I don’t have any valid photo ID as my passport had expired and I’m still using the old style, legal, non photo driving license. I told PayPal I was unable to comply with their request although I did scan a utility bill and upload it, which was fine. PayPal said that a copy of by birth certificate would be ok as photo ID but when I pointed out that that document resides at my Mothers house some 250 miles away they weren’t interested. I also queried how a document without a photo could qualify as photo ID and that quite commonly, when I was born I looked nothing like I do now. I have asked them to close my account as the major problem is that they have my ONLY Visa Debit card associated to the account which means I can’t use that to buy tickets or anything where the seller has opted for PayPal as their payment processor…can’t even decide NOT to use PayPal. They have now said that they can’t close an account that is limited and that I need to comply before the account can be closed! Idiots! If I COULD comply I wouldn’t want the account closed! And so the saga continues…

After alerting PayPal to a suspicious payment and following their instructions they have overdrafted both that account and business checking over $750
On April 20 someone contacted me on Skype to say he had paid for Online English Lessons from either me or a teacher who is employed by me. When I went to my Paypal account to check I saw a $200 from an American paypal account, this should have been a payment from a man in Algeria not an American woman in Indiana. I called paypal immediately to report the payment which I also saw was sent to an old email address, not the current business email and I have no payment package for the price of $200 ever. Paypal told me to email the woman the payment came from and they put the payment on hold thus freezing my account. After spending time that should have been spent teaching I called customer service every day for a week to understand why they were removing funds from the account. I was met with unhelpful call agents and disdain as if I had stolen this money.

I posted a complaint on Facebook warranting me a very polite response from their “social team” saying it had been researched the money returned and I would be credited $100 for being a good client. I received this credit while at the same time they repeatedly tried to deduct $194 from my business checking which then became over drawn with $250 in overdraft fees. I was told that I was not protected as a seller of “intangible goods” and must return the payment and that was why they tried to get it from my other account. Why am I being charged for returning a fee I never touched? If they had the money “held” why do they need me to give them the $194 ($200 minus their processing fees)?

I have had to restrict the business checking as well as my personal account and as the Paypal account is in a negative balance billing agreements I have with my website hosting company and other important business agreements have not been honored and I have lost control of the website that my students send payments on and prospective students contact me from. I have two teachers who have not been paid as well as the rent on my home and office. This has been devastating after trying to do the right thing. The woman who the payment came from never contacted me after I alerted her to the payment and the entire transaction is suspicious but I am being punished.

As a web developer I have set up a booking system that allows hotels to accept there own booking rather than pay a commission to a booking agency. I used paypal to receive payments and stupidly without realizing attached paypal account to the company trust account which handles all banking and tax related issues for the motel. This was the biggest mistake i have ever made as a web developer and one that will never happen again. the heartache of unknowingly attaching a trust account suddenly gave paypal an excuse to hold funds indefinitely whilst making me jump through hundreds of hoops to satisfy the non sensible requests relating to trust account. First they need this then that then the other meanwhile the account can’t operate and the funds are held without interest indefinitely. 9 months later there is still no resolution despite sending everything they have asked for except the last request because by now it is getting expensive to continue down this path.
The accountant has sent me a $1000 bill for accessing the requested files, there has been over 100 man hours invested in follow up and still we are no closer to resolution. I have told them I will take legal action and intend to apply for compensation for all the man hours required to suit there pitiful demands and we are back to waiting for a response. What a truly disgusting customer service department they have , they contribute to the time wasted with wrong information on what is needed , long queues on the phone (over an hour on several occasions) and there I couldn’t give a flying f**k attitude. Cow tailing to there patheticness I even opened up a saving account unrelated to the business and attached that. because my account was limited previously the new account won’t work either
meaning another dead end and further wasted time and expense, when paypal get you in a compromised position they bend you over and screw you hard, they have absolutely zero respect for the customer and for customer rights. They have done nothing to help and have no intention of using common sense.
The worst company by far i have ever dealt with and now they have my money we are tied at the hip till they release it.
