Frisco Woods Campground North Carolina Review
I recently visited this campground in North Carolina “Outer Banks” called Frisco Woods Campground. I originally wanted to use My PayPal Account to pay for the lodging fees. Boy, am I glad I didn’t do that, or I may not have been able to charge back the entire amount due to the horrible experience I had at Frisco Woods.
My immediate impression upon arriving at 9:00pm was that it was extremely dark. So dark, in fact, that reading the site markers was impossible without walking around in the dark with a flashlight. That wouldn’t have been so terrible, except for the fact that the Mosquitoes and Flies were so bad, that just opening up my truck door for 3 seconds resulted in both my children getting stung numerous times. Setting up my trailer was very difficult in the pitch black with the mosquitoes literally biting me every second.
Now, I have been to numerous KOA campgrounds as well as privately owned campgrounds. So, I can tell you that there is a very good reason why it is far, far cheaper to stay here, than it is to stay at Camp Hatteras, which is 35 miles down the road. Frisco is in the middle of nowhere. The only people who were here were French Canadians that seemingly have never seen a real beach before. The front store is being run by kids who have no knowledge of anything and cant answer even basic questions relating to this campground or the surrounding area.
If you enjoy swimming in dirty water, save some money, find a remote lake and do it there. If you are looking for remote seclusion and boredom, go to Frisco Woods.
