This website is a collection of horror stories, news reports and other information addressing problems with Paypal, Inc..

Jumping through hoops just to get our own money.

My wife has had her/our Paypal account tip over the $1000 mark, unbeknownst to us, that means you automatically have to provide heaps of ID to then be able to access it again… We have jumped through many hoops, provided the correct docs, even her birth certificate only to find out they didn’t review it, then they tell us that her drivers license is not clear, which was completely untrue, so resend it. Then they say that all the other docs we sent months ago are now out of date…! Now I am starting to worry about paypal having all of this very personal information of ours and that they are not keeping it safe. And why would they ask for all this information if providing it doesn’t make a difference? Absolute mongrels. Not helpful at all on the phone, one tells you one thing, then the next tells you its something else… Complete rubbish, and all to get access to money that is ours in the first place!

It sounds like you are going to have to wait 180 days before paypal releases your funds to you. I went through a similar experience, sent everything in just to have my account closed and funds on hold for 6 months. It is absoultely outrageous that paypal can do this to their users without repercussions.
