Seller Protection?

I have recently been robbed by Paypal and by a Buyer.
I am a frequent seller on Ebay and have used paypal for 2 years now, for both buying and selling purposes. This is the first time Paypal has ever done something like this to me.
An Ebay buyer purchased an item from me for 250+ USD, and paid me through Paypal using a Credit Card. I am a verified member of paypal.
3 Months later I recieved a notice from paypal notifying me that that particular transaction is in dispute. Saying that the Ebay Buyer in question has contacted his credit card company and told them that it was an unauthorized purchase.
I have attempted to contact the buyer but his e-mail address is no longer valid, nor have I been able to obtain a phone # for the buyer.
So the situation stands as this.... Paypal is robbing me of the money that the customer paid me, and I have also had the item that I shipped to the customer 3 months ago stolen from me.
Paypals response to this is "Sorry, but the money has to get to the person that it rightfully belongs to"
Paypal has absolutely no SELLER protection.
The easiest way someone could use paypal would be to constantly buy items off Ebay, Pay with Paypal, and then simply chargeback the item they bought. It seems that through this method you could steal anything from someone who accepts paypal as a method of payment without any sort of recourse being able to be taken against you.
