Do I need to pay balance?

My boyfriend who has his own pool company had a customer that wanted to pay him through PayPal. I had opened an account under my name so he could receive the funds since his PayPal had a negative balance and we were in a bit of a financial struggle.

The customer for some reason was unhappy although all services were rendered and issued a refund. We disputed it and PayPal decided in their favor. The Account is now -$800.00. The thing is the account is in my name and tied to me although it is my boyfriend’s work transaction. I have been fighting with them and they said the only way to resolve is to pay. This is ridiculous. I definitely don’t want to pay them and he shouldn’t have to because the customer was being an ass. I read that PayPal can issue a judgment against you and such.

Is this true? SHould I have my boyfriend pay the negative balance or dispute this further? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
