On PayPal Freezing Funds

By Mikhail

After setting up my account I could never sign in it any longer. Any attempts to do so failed. The PayPal rep told me over the phone that I will receive access to the account and a new password (which didn’t work as well). So I went ahead and sed the merchandize to buyers. And then I received the communication quoted below. I wish I had found your site before I dealt with PayPal.

Dear Mikhail,

Thank you for contacting PayPal.

I have reviewed your faxed documentation.  In order to protect PayPal from the risk of reversals, and in accordance with our User Agreement, the funds in your PayPal account will be held for 180 days from the date of the last payment received.  In your case, you may contact us after 11/23/2003 for a status regarding any remaining funds in your account.

Once the 180-day period has expired, you will have the option to have a check mailed to you, or request that we transfer the funds to another PayPal account that you may possess.  You must also agree to have your PayPal account closed at the time your funds are issued.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.

Please note that all unclaimed transactions will be returned to the sender’s accounts in 30 days.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us again.
