Paypal Locked My Account And Won’t Give My Money Back

By Ronald

I bought an ECU from ebay the guy sold me a messed up ECU I contacted the seller he didn’t want to cooperate so I filled a chargeback with my credit company next thing I knew my account got locked. The seller eventually gave me my money back paypal told me to close the complain so I did. Then to get my money back they told me to fax ID and credit card statement I did that. I had my dads credit card on Paypal his first name is different then me. Now they telling me to send it proof that I was authorized to use the card. Now they emailed me saying “Copy of your monthly statement for the credit card ending in xxxx (The

statement must show your name, address and account number exactly as they appear in your PayPal account). If you are unable to provide a credit card statement that shows your name or provide a document from the credit card company stating that you are an authorized signer on the card, we will be unable to lift the limitation on this account. If you decide to contact the credit card company and go through the process of becoming a signer, please let us know.

Unfortunately, if you are unable or unwilling to provide the requested documentation your account will remain in a limited status. Any funds in your PayPal account will be held for 180 days from the date of your last transaction. This is done to limit PayPal’s charge back liability. At the end of 180 days you may request, via e-mail, to have any remaining balance mailed to your confirmed address. If you do not go through the process of becoming a signer on that credit card.

Sincerely,
Sarah

same here. 180 days lock out on top of the two months of back and forth trying to resolve this. £1000. I did nothing wrong by the way, and it wasn’t even an ebay transaction. After this I’m not using paypal any more, in fact I’ll treat them like a fraudulent company. When the subject is relevant I and and will keep telling all my friends, colleagues and clients to do the same. Word of mouth goes a very long way.
