Paypal wants me to pay for random account with negative balance

My paypal account has been suspended for being linked to another paypal account that was $1133.50 in the red. I have tried to work with paypal the last 5 days but I am not getting anywhere with them. They tell me they are investigating it, but it seems like it is getting no where. There was a checking account linked to this other account and I have never even heard of the bank before and never have had the email address in question. I have asked Paypal over and over how they linked this account to my account since non of the information they have provided me with so far regarding this account, that is supposed mine, has any of my information. I am not getting any answers from PayPal and I am starting to get very frustrated because I can’t use my account so I am not making any money. PayPal told me that I need to pay the balance owed on this account, $1133.50 if I want my actual account back in working mode. I AM NOT F%#KING PAYING ANYTHING I DON’T OWE. THIS IS THE BIGGEST FRAUD BY PAYPAL AND I AM SURE THEY HAVE BULLIED MANY PEOPLE INTO PAYING BUT NOT ME!!!!

That’s crazy!!! I think your right I think they are trying to bully you into paying for someone elses bad standing account. If none of the information matches your how can they even suggest you pay the balance. That’s just BS. I would tell them to close out the account and I would go with a real merchant account and get the hell away from paypal

This is criminal what paypal is doing. I can only fear for what would happen if they did this to my grandma who uses paypal to send me and her other grand kids money (we are spread out all over the country in different colleges) If paypal told her she owed money she would pay right away to make it right. She would never want to be in trouble and believes what she is told, “why would people lie to me” she says all the time. She would not think to question it. I am going to see if I can get her to close her paypal account. I don’t want paypal or anyone else taking advantage of her.

I sell wxpensive software. I was scammed. I clearly stated the required requirments XP Win 7 vista. Anyway the buyer ask for a refund saying it would not work on his machine. Reason he installed it on Win 95. I refused and he opened up a case agaist me. He won and when he returned the software, it was clear that he used it. The security tag was broken the box all broken and scratches all over the DVD. I explained to paypal and said most high st stoes wont accept refunds if the box was opened. What this theif done was copied the software and serial No, Im not in any position to appeal. I no longer sell DVDs now on Ebay ;-(

WTF? Paypal really is the worst company ever. And I have never seen such a bad assistance. Everyone should quit paypal to make them pay for what they do. I think they didn’t realze that there are already other options either than Paypal, and some of those can be used on E-bay. By thw way, if he tells them that he wants to close the account and retrieve the money, they’ll just tell him that after 160 days without using the account, he can take out the money and after god knows how many days after the account will be automatecly closed. That’s what they told me. And that reminds me that my 160 days have already passed lol. F*** you Paypal.

This is definitely a big time fraud alert!!!!! Not on your end but from PayPal. If I were you I wouldn’t pay that amount either!!! If they are too lazy to investigate a little pit more that is there problem not yours. Just close your account and go to a real merchant account. PayPal is just the worse in dealing with issues like these.

PayPal is very unprofessional and I start to think that they are unsafe for business things. In my case, my account is limited after receiving a payment. I didn’t know the reason since all I do is as usual, nothing can harm the services or the users. Then, they requested some papers to upload, I sent them and problem solved. My account is back in normal state. But 30 minutes later, they sent me an email saying the action is cancelled, back to limited status and cannot be appealed. What a very unprofessional job, I hate for what their doing without reason at all. All I can do is to refund the payment which is bad for my business and let them EAT my $4 balance so they can buy an ebook to educate them self.

Wow!! That’s so crazy Paypal did the same to me just this week. Received an email on monday about my account being limited. Called the number provided in the email which was the collections dept.. Turns out they linked my acct to another account which was definitely not mine. Had a negative balance on that acct and now the funds in my account are frozen. Said they would do an investigation and to call to find out the outcome in a couple days. Called back and was told the two accts were linked. I know with 100% certainty that this IS NOT my account. Very frustrated as a spoke to agent, supervisor, the supervisor’s supervisor etc. Only to come back with NO answers. Couldn’t tell me how the 2 were linked, what info they used to determine this or even how they go about there investigation. Was told that I need to supeona them to get this information. So basicaly SHUT UP AND PAY.. This is such a scam and I’m not paying for someone else’s accout. I will take legal action. There needs to be a Class Action Lawsuit filed against them.

      Hi,

I was scammed by a Ukraine national. He filed disputes after transactions and let Paypal refund him. Now, I got negative balance of course since the money was already withdrawn and sent to him via other money sending service, but since Paypal refunded him then He WILL receive double! What a prick! Now, I don’t want to pay PP. He enjoyed too much of the money and now I’ll pay more for Paypal to enjoy? It’s their mistake to side a buyer a.k.a. hidden scammer. Do you think they can file cases in the Philippines?

I’ve read a lot of blogs also involving Filipinos with the same scammer from Ukraine and got big negative balance too. They didn’t pay and just annoying emails…that’s it.

      What do you think?

Ukraine Scammer uses Paypal and Western Union

        Name: Sergey Voloshin
Address: 42-44 Shovkovychna St., Kiev, Ukraine 01601

        Job posting site: Freelancer.com

        email address: jiw9@live.com

He will use other person’s PP account then send you money then let you withdraw it and send it to you via Western Union. After which he will file dispute to paypal and paypal pays him refund – so he has double money! Then you will have negative balance on your Paypal.

        Or

He has stolen credit card or hack paypal accounts to send money and use other people’s account. When the time comes the original owner finds out about the unauthorized payment, then you will have negative balance on your PP because Paypal will side on the customer and refund them.

        Or

He has some accomplice on US who are also scammer owning Paypal account. That way, he receives the money and the accomplice receives the Paypal refund, so that turns out to be their real income the refund.

        Or

If the real owner of the hacked the Paypal account still doesn’t know what happened and was not checking her account often, then they will be the one handling the account then and receiving the refunds. So that’s the double dirty money comes from! They get the physical money and they get the refund! When the real owner comes in and complain to paypal, well, she gets nothing because they get everything already.

        Kiss your ass scammers!

Hi! I know this reply is waaaaaaay too late but I really need your help.

        Here’s my situation:

I got scammed too and my account was limited. I have no negative balance yet, but, I’m scared that they might give me negative balance once the buyer wins the dispute. Can Paypal access my BPI account? Like they’ll withdraw the negative balance from my BPI Savings account?

I have the same problem. I have a negative $650.00 paypal balance. My BPI savings account and my debit card are not connected to PayPal account though. Did someone from PayPal collect money from you based on your experiences? Please. I really need some help.

Nope. But I closed my BPI account just to make sure.

@Red , did you put your correct information on your PayPal account like address and telephone numbers?

Well isn’t this funny. Same exact thing is happening to me. Next step is local news and local autorities. After that, major national news. Paypla needs to be stopped. I’ve used them with no problem (as well as ebay) for 6 years. They won’t talk to me, they won’t call me back, and now they’re going to close my account anyway. I’m not paying some assholes bill for $500+! Fuck pay pal
