PayPal Screws Me Over

Writer Wishes To Remain Anonymous

Today I received a email from paypal informing me that they were reversing a transaction which had been completed NINE (9) months earlier!  The buyer claimed that “the items had been misrepresented”.  Even though she was only claiming that $100 of the original purchase price of $345 was not to her satisfaction, paypal reversed the entire $345!.  This is ridiculous because after 9 months all any buyer has to do is complain to their credit card company that she didnt like the items and paypal will automatically reverse the funds in your account.  Just another instance of paypal stupidly acting in an absurd manner.

This is not the first time I have had a problem like this with them.  On another occasion they reversed a payment even though they had tracking information in hand and know full well that the items were intransit and would be delivered within 24 hours.  It took me 5 months for them to credit the money back to my account.  Every time I would call I would get the same canned response that “they were looking into it”, or that “the problem would be resolved in short order”.

Moral of the story is paypal will screw you, the seller over, anytime that a customer with a complaint snaps their fingers.  Better to use Yahoo direct pay.  It is a lot easier to set up and they do not pull this fund reversal crap on you.
