How Does PayPal Make Money With My Money?

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, there are approx. 100,000 complaints outstanding at PayPal (Are any of these yours?). In many instances disputes can run on for months leaving people frustrated and out of pocket as they are unable to access their accounts. So what happens to the millions of dollars tied up in frozen accounts and disputes? Well, here is a clip from the San Francisco Chronicle that basically sums it up:

U.S. District Judge Jeremy Fogel of San Jose refused to dismiss a lawsuit that seeks class-action status on behalf of thousands of PayPal customers nationwide. A common allegation is that the company brushes off or stalls customer grievances for months and meanwhile freezes the customer's account and pockets the interest (So that's how they make their money!). No wonder they freeze so many accounts!

We have been on Ebay for nearly a year now and have sold quite a bit and have used paypal to receive credit card payments but the other day they froze our account for a reason that does not seem logical or even truthful. We feel that this is quite unethical because according to them we can have payments sent to the Paypal account but then we are not allowed to receive them whatsoever unless I will give up my pin number, Social Security number and other private information that no one that the information belongs to should have the right to know. I wonder if they are attempting to steal our money this way and should they not be investigated for this underhanded activity. I will not give up the pin number to my credit card to anyone. That is giving them the way to go into my account and steal from me and that is not acceptable in any way, shape or form. Thank you for allowing me to express my feelings on this. We may have to drop Ebay altogether if this is not taken care of immediately.
