Won’t refund account balance

We use PayPal occasionally for our two companies – mostly to buy things. So a week ago I deposited $1,600 to buy several computers. They send the money to the vendor, then reversed it. Then they charged me $1.95 to verify the account and then, after I provided the verification code, they refunded the $1.95. But still my account is marked “Limited.” Today I called and they said that the risk to too high on our account, but I have never had any issue in the past, other than not using it very much. I asked the reason and was told, the only way we will tell you that is if you submit a Subpoena to their legal department. This is very odd. I guess I won’t use Paypal Again. But how and when will I get my money back? I need that money to buy the computers and the vendor has agreed to sell them to me and I can pay with a money order but now paypal is not giving me access to my money despite me doing everything they have asked for.

I wish i could say i didn’t know how this feels but i do. Pretty much the same story.

PayPal can hold your money for up to 180 days when your account is limited, after that you can withdraw the money to a regular bank account. They say they have to keep it to cover possible refunds and claims (wich is nonsense 9 out of 10 times).

patience is the only thing since they won’t do anything. I have made a clear case to them and sent a letter through my lawyer directly to PayPal HQ in the US. Wonderful to see how fast they can respond when you say you will sue them
