Seller Loses Two Ways

Writer Wishes To Remain Anonymous

Paypal’s Seller Protection Policy is a Lie. I am sending this complaint against Paypal on behalf of my company. We have been doing business on Ebay for over 3 years and use Paypal as our only credit card payment online. Two months ago we received a dispute from a customer, claiming that item we shipped is not as described. Of course, Paypal take this amount of chargeback from our Paypal account first, and hold the money for over a month until today we receive a chargeback settlement from Paypal, stating that we are not qualified for Paypal Seller Protection Policy Coverage and this chargeback is settled against the seller. This item is sold AS-IS on ebay. I called Paypal for an explaination, they told me that since there is no way seller can prove that they originally shipped the right product, the case is closed against seller.

What we learned from this case is that there is absolutely NO Seller Protection from Paypal. As long as the buyer file a chargeback claiming that item is not as described, and there is no way seller can prove it, seller will lose both the money and the goods they shipped sooner or later. I feel very upset about this answer Paypal gave it to me.
