How Does PayPal Make Money With My Money?

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, there are approx. 100,000 complaints outstanding at PayPal (Are any of these yours?). In many instances disputes can run on for months leaving people frustrated and out of pocket as they are unable to access their accounts. So what happens to the millions of dollars tied up in frozen accounts and disputes? Well, here is a clip from the San Francisco Chronicle that basically sums it up:

U.S. District Judge Jeremy Fogel of San Jose refused to dismiss a lawsuit that seeks class-action status on behalf of thousands of PayPal customers nationwide. A common allegation is that the company brushes off or stalls customer grievances for months and meanwhile freezes the customer's account and pockets the interest (So that's how they make their money!). No wonder they freeze so many accounts!

I 1st started using PayPal in 2001, since I was conducting business on ebay and customers wanted to pay via PayPal. I had bought a Sony Camcorder at a big discount… it was the top of the line Digital Camcorder with all the features, but after a few months I said to myself that I do not need all these features and never really used them. So my plan was to sell the camera on ebay and with the money I got I would buy a new one with less features. I listed the item and someone bought it. The buyer was in Indonesia and I was scepticle, but he had a PayPal account and in order to setup a PayPal account you have to send in all kinds of info to be verified… Right? Wrong! They set this guy up anyway.

Since I used PayPal for a few months before for small amounts like $35.00 $12.00, $20.00 I thought there would be no problem cause I always recieved the money. The deal that I told they guy was when you send the money and I deposit it in my account then I will ship the item. He agreed. He sent me $850.00 and then I clicked the button to transfer the funds to my checking account. The funds were gone from Paypal and processing to my checking account… since it took a day or so to appear I was not worried so I shipped the item. The next day I checked my account and no funds, so I check PayPal and the reversed payment and were holding the $850.00, saying that they suspected Fraud. What!!! Fraud? Not from me! I tried getting the package back but it was gone. Paypal froze my account and gave back the $850.00 to the customer.

Now the customer had my Camera and the $850.00 and I was left with a Frozen PayPal account. I tried E-mailing PayPal and had gotten no answer, finally after searching the web I found this website and after reading the stories I found out that I was not the only one… PayPal steals peoples money. From the phone # on the website I called and spoke to sombody who did not even know how to spell PayPal and they said there was nothing they can do… But why wait until the money was sent to my checking before reversing it? Why not contact me 1st? Why send the Money back to the customer? Now answer… It was like PayPal works with these people to rip you off… Take it from me. I never use paypal and I will contine to post on my auctions to go towww.paypalwarning.com.
