VISA card banned by PayPal
Just found out that I cannot use my Business Visa card for any transaction where Paypal is the payment processor. I disputed a Paypal charge in March 2013 that showed up on my credit card because the description did not indicate the correct vendor. When I finally found out that it was a valid vendor, I released the dispute (which my card issuer sent as a chargeback dispute to Paypal) and paid the charge.
Now, six months later, I am trying to register for conferences and purchase products using my business Visa card, but I get an error message telling me my card can’t be accepted. When I called PayPal to find out what was going on, they told me that their policy is that once a dispute has been registered against PayPal with a credit card, that card is banned FOREVER from being used for any PayPal-processed transaction. Their solution to me was “do you have another card you can use?” Seriously? Forever? No resolution process at all?
Anyway, I now have another reason to tell all my clients and business associates to avoid PayPal at all costs.
