Worried About Security

Writer Wishes To Remain Anonymous

I do not have a story to publish but a question.  Is PayPal the only way to purchase on eBay if you are using a credit card or debit card?  I currently have a PayPal account but after reading all of this am very concerned about its security.  Thanks so much.

Most sellers only accept PayPal through eBay. Depending on the type of item your looking to purchase and your geographic location it may be possible to contact local sellers to pick up your item in store.
eBay also allows the use of moneybookers and paymate but I have yet to see a seller who uses those payment options. On top of that some of their fees are outrageous even for buyers.

A good safe alternative you may want to look into is using a prepaid bank card. Put enough money into that card and maybe a little more depending on that card policy and fee schedule. Then just link that card to your PayPal and use that as your funding source.
Keep in mind, PayPal may ask for bank account information. You can get around this by linking a bank account and verifying. 2 weeks later close it out and bank elsewhere. This keeps PayPal’s greedy hands off your hard earned money.
Also keep in mind, if you decide to do something illicit with those steps there are possible repercussions that may follow up. So just be aware.
